We are so excited to announce that Opera Mediaworks has been selected as an Official Honoree for the 18th Annual Webby Awards in the Mobile Advertising category!
We were selected for our work on the JetBlue “Air on the side of humanity” campaign last fall that featured, for the first time ever, voice ads — mobile ads that allow consumers to interact with the ad on their smartphones through voice. You can see Opera Mediaworks’ honoree listing on the Webby website here as well as a video that shows the voice ad here.
The Webby awards, often called “The Oscars of the Internet,” are awards for excellence on the Internet presented annually by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. The Webby Awards presents two honors The Webby Award and The Webby People’s Voice Award in every category in each of the five entry-types: Websites, Interactive Advertising & Media, Online Film & Video, Mobile & Apps and Social. The Webby awards ceremony will be held in New York City on May 19 and will bring together the best and most innovative players in web and mobile.
With 12,000 entries received from all 50 U.S. states and over 60 countries, the Official Honoree distinction is awarded to the top 20 percent of all work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement.
It’s an incredible honor that we couldn’t be prouder of. Thank you so much for being a part of the online community that brought us here. We have so much to look forward to, and this is only the beginning!
