We’re thrilled to mark the first quarter of 2016 with Opera Mediaworks winning Marketing Technology Company of the Year at the Mumbrella Asia Awards, held in Singapore on March 17.
While well established in the U.S. and Europe, Opera Mediaworks is a fairly new entrant in APAC. Since opening our first office in Singapore in early 2015, our team has expanded into 10 countries, driving change and taking the lead every day to transform the mobile advertising industry in the region.
We thank Mumbrella for this recognition and the jury, comprised of the region’s advertising leaders, for shining the light on our innovative products. We are committed to pushing forward into new areas and executing the region’s most creative and impactful mobile campaigns.
Growth above and beyond
As of the close of 2015, Opera’s reach in APAC is 400+ million unique users each month with the platform reach being 48% of all APAC mobile internet users.
In a short span of time, the team has built strong relationships with the largest advertisers and leading agency groups across Asia, including GroupM (Mindshare, Mediacom, Maxus), DentsuAegis Group, Starcom, Zenith and Omnicom (OMD/PHD), to name a few. We have added more than 500 new accounts, resulting in over a thousand mobile ad campaigns on the platform in Asia for key clients such as Unilever, P&G, Samsung, Toyota, AskMe, Snapdeal, Lazada and Zalora, as well as a threefold increase in our revenue.
We are committed to supporting the mobile advertising ecosystem by working with industry leaders and partners such as Moat Analytics and the Mobile Marketing Association.Through these partnerships, we bring transparency in mobile video viewability and APAC analytics, respectively.
Mobile video for the mobile-first region
The growth of Opera Mediaworks in the APAC region is healthy and diversified across the spectrum of the business including: owned and operated, brand display, video, performance demand, video and programmatic. Video is one of biggest drivers of our business in the region with over 40% of the revenues across brand and performance demand coming from mobile video.
